Meet Sara

I believe the most meaningful journeys are created through connection – to the culture, people, landscapes, and stories that make each destination unique.

As a travel curator, I bring together deep destination research, trusted local connections, and a discerning eye for experiences that reveal the character of a place. My approach is rooted in curiosity, creativity, and a deep appreciation for art, nature, culture, and community. Each journey is thoughtfully designed to go beyond the expected, weaving together meaningful experiences, local traditions, exceptional cuisine, artistic discovery, and authentic connections.

My perspective on travel was shaped long before I became a travel curator. As a dancer, choreographer, and educator, I spent years traveling throughout Central and South America, Europe, and Asia. Those experiences deepened my understanding of culture and strengthened my belief that travel can expand perspective, inspire creativity, and bring people together.

After many years living in the heart of New York City, I now call Asheville, North Carolina, home – a place that continues to inspire my love of nature, creativity, and community.

Drawing on my experience as an artist, educator, curator, and entrepreneur, I created Sara Baird Travel to bring all of these perspectives together. The result is travel that is intentional, personal, and deeply connected to the places and people you encounter along the way.
